Used and in very good condition. Pair of Hard Rubber Vise Jaws for Golf Clubs. Many other important uses: (1) For holding sensitive pipes, tubes and rods, as well as plates and other thin stock, (2) For holding objects which need to be held snugly but that vise jaws would mar, deform or crush, such as collectible, ceramic, glass and some wood objects, (3) For holding arrow shafts (archery) and spear shafts. (4) For holding tools you are working on. (5) For holding crafts and model shop objects. Used and in very good condition. Modified Craftsman Articulated Hobby Vise, Item #03311, Pana-like vise. This is a very high-quality and highly versatile vise. Opens to 3". Jaws are steel and are 2-3/4" wide, 5/8" high (height is 1-1/4" from rail tops to top of jaw, and you can buy vise jaw inserts to expand existing jaw sizes and/or to better cushion work). This hobby vise has BOTH horizontal and vertical "V" notches on BOTH jaws (most vises either don't have "V" notches, or only one notch, or notches on only one jaw). Opposing "V" notches much improve the gripping and holding of pipes, tubes, rods and other round or uniquely-shaped objects with minimal slipping, marring and/or distortion - great for crafts, modeling, jewelry and other precision work. This is an highly adjustable ball-and-socket hobby vise with a huge range of head positions in all three axes to provide greatest positioning comfort and precision when working with crafts, modeling, jewelry, clocks, watches, dental objects, other small mechanisms and parts, etc.
          Note that this Craftsman vise was modified by us with magnetic feet (we replaced its rubber suction base), as shown, 3 magnetic strips are solidly cemented to bottom of a solidly screwed-on thick wood base. The shown magnetic strips on base of pan vise are high-strength industrial magnets - not similarly-looking fridge magnets - so gripping onto ferromagnetic surfaces (e.g. iron, steel) is excellent. We have several of these modified-base type vises of various types in our shops and labs to grip and hold light-to-medium weight objects, and just love working with them. And likely, so will you.
          In our shops and labs, we work on electrically grounded steel plates (usually old iron biscuit/cookie/baking pans/sheets) on top of our wood shop and lab work surfaces. Galvanized steel plates/sheets and steel trays also work well. This magnetic base hobby vise also works great on pickup tailgates and other vehicles, appliances and other flat steel/iron surfaces on construction sites, in the field, trips, camping, etc. Steel/iron work surfaces not only protect your underlying surfaces, but allow for more vigorous shop work, are easier to clean than wood, and do not allowing static electric build ups when working with delicate electronics or metal or static-generating objects (if grounded). You can move and reposition this vise anywhere on the work surface, and remove if needed. To move the vise to a different work area, you can just simply pick up the steel/iron plate it is on and move them both together. If you need to remove the hobby vise but not its iron/steel plate, while its magnets highly resist sliding the vise on a steel or iron surface, to more easily remove vise, you just tilt up one side, and then the other sides. If you need even stronger magnetic anchoring, obtain and cement onto the hobby vise's bottom powerful Neodymium magnets (rare earth metal magnets), 1/8" thick is ideal. If you don't need high resistance to moving, then this hobby vise also works fine on other surfaces, including wood, plastic, aluminum, glass, hard rubber, formica, granite and marble (because the magnets are plastic matrix, damage risk to surfaces is small). On most non-steel/iron surfaces, there is still some resistance to sliding because the magnets' plastic matrix tends to resist sliding unless wet.
          Caution: Metal plates are not recommended for working with exposed AC line voltages or other high voltages because of risk of shock. While this vise itself will amazingly hang vertically on many flat steel/iron surfaces because its magnets are very strong (even hangs upside down!), do not use this vise to hold objects these ways as it may fall.
          STANDARD VISE BASES: Almost all new vises come with 3 types of bases, all of which are inferior to our magnetic base: (1) Clamped-On Vises: Disadvantages are that vise is limited to table, work bench or work desk edge, not easy to remove or move base, and they mar and indent surfaces. (2) Rubber-Based Suction Vises: Disadvantages are that they don't adhere to many surfaces unless they are very flat, smooth and clean (e.g. clean formica surface), the suction may often, suddenly or unexpectedly break, you have to wet the surface or rubber base for best attachment, and any damage or defect in the rubber base ruins its suction ability. (3) Vises with Flanges to Screw Onto Work Surfaces: Disadvantages are that you damage the mounting surface with screw holes, placement and removal requires much more time and effort, and you are virtually stuck with one vise base position. CONCLUSION: For most vise uses, magnetic-based vises are much superior in versatility and ease of use.

L-shaped jaw is also 4-7/8" long on vertical "L" leg. The L-shaped jaw has both horizontal and vertical "V" notches to more securely grip and hold pipes, rods, tubes and other round or uneven-shaped objects. Rectangular jaw has opposite side vertial "V" notch, so together, this B&K Quick Vise can simultaneously securely grip and hold vertical round or uneven-shaped objects - even if different sizes or shapes. With two independent adjustment clamps, this Quick Vise much more securely grips and holds angle-shaped, unevenly-shaped and other odd-shaped objects - great for crafts work and modeling. RARE, ANTIQUE PERFECTION NUT CRACKER,
MODEL 1928, MODIFIED TO MAKE A VERSATILE VISE/VICE

(Sorry, we just sold this antique Perfection nut cracker.) Used and in very good condition. Rare, antique Perfection Nut Cracker, Model 1928, Patented 1914, Waco, Texas, modified to make a versatile, fast and easy-to-use vise. The T-handle is especially nice - comfortable and well-designed for hard clamping. Unlike almost all other nut crackers, this model has a threaded shaft and T-handle commonly found in vises and clamps to securely press against and hold objects. This Perfection nut cracker is modified with two large, thick knurled washers firmly epoxied to the clamp faces as shown. These added washers increase the clamping surfaces for firmer clamps. Also, the 1/2" dia. washer holes better clamp round and odd-shaped objects. This added feature not only improves the Perfection nut cracker's ability to position and crack nuts without slippage to enhance its inherent nut cracking utility, but is also great for many other uses, especially unusual clamping needs. Further, the head that is on the threaded bolt end floats to some extent (built-in feature) to better hold odd-shaped objects (such as nuts) of just about any kind, similar to how toolmaker vises (tool maker vises) work. Ideal vise or clamp for crafts shops, model shops, fabrication shops, gun shops, jewelry repair shops, and watch repair shops. And a great collectible (you can break off the added washers to restore Perfection Nut Cracker to original condition if you wish).

Not only is this handheld vise great for holding and bending flat objects and materials typical of most handheld vises, but it also has a side which works great with tubes, rods, shafts, cables, wires, ropes, odd-shaped objects, etc. Ideal for securely cutting, soldering, drilling, grinding, polishing, shaping, holding, suspending and carrying tubed-shaped objects for the shop, hobbyists, crafts, jewelry, sports, electricians, plumbers, etc. This Ma Bell hand vise was made about 50 years ago by the Bell Telephone & Telegraph Company (the same Bell System / Western Electric monopoly which later broke up into the "Baby Bells") as a telephone lineman's installation and repair tool, this Ma Bell vise is a great collectible as well as being a very useful and versatile tool.

RARE, UNUSUAL ANTIQUE POMEROY NO. 1, 1906
PRESS / PUNCH / RIVETING TOOL + VISE / CLAMP + ANVIL

Used and all of its functions work great. Some surface corrosion, but nothing significantly diminishes tool strength or function. We lubricated all moving parts.

Very rare antique multi-tool Pomeroy No. 1 Press / Punch / Riveting Tool, Vise / Clamp and Anvil Tool, Patented March 27, 1906 - the original Model 1 for this great multi-tool! The silvery object tied to the handle is a removeable modern socket which we simply place over the bottom extension of the press / riveter for hard presses (the socket can also be fitted with various dies and surfaces to suit one's applications without permanently modifying the extensions). You can cut off the plastic tie wrap when you want to use the socket for hard presses or if you wish to get rid of this added feature. The press / punch / riveter and vise / clamp parts of this tool are obvious from the images. The anvil part is less obvious and it consists of two sections: One is the top flat part of the tool between the handle and top of the Vise / Clamp tool part, and the other is the horn-like extension in the front of the Press / Punch / Riveter tool part.

This is a truly ingenious design for a benchtop multi-tool - down to the last detail of including a pipe hole optional way of mounting (Pomeroy multi-tool can also be bolted to top of bench) and alignment with other tools, and the notches in the vise/clamp faces for securely holding round and square stock, such as rods, pipes and tubing, and odd-shaped objects. This tool was made back in a time when most manufacturers and repair shops were small, family operations or factories where each worker had to do several different handtooling functions - opposite of modern assembly lines. With the way the economy is today, once again we are turning to the small operators and home garage shops. This Pomeroy multi-tool is very useful today, as it was then, because a single worker can efficiently use this versatile and compact multitool to perform many of his/her various work functions from just one location on the bench. New old stock (NOS). Metal Lathe Quick-Change Tool Post (QCTP). It is not stamped with its maker ID, or model or part number. This metal lathe QCTP also makes a great 3-piece Steel Specialized Clamp used to clamp onto perpendicular objects or edges. As a metal lathe QCTP, this precision tool bolts into the compound side of the metal lathe. Then individual tool bits are clamped in the removable holders. You then select one of the two mounting points and drop the holder into place, and lock it down. There is an adjustment to let you set each holder to bring each tool bit to center. Each of the two edge blocks (each has 3 screws) may be adjusted up or down by loosening a locking screw on the bottom left edge (left image) or top right edge (screws not shown), so the edge blocks can be independently adjusted up or down to fit even if seriously misaligned, uneven and/or different thickness parts. These edge blocks can also be removed. One edge block has a "V" groove machined along its inside middle, like many vises do, for gripping round tools, stock or other objects. This clamp or vise is very useful if, for example, you need to join two pieces of metal, wood or plastic at right angles to each other (even when they differ in thicknesses and/or alignment) to screw, cement, solder, braze or weld together, thus making this versatile clamp into a really nice alignment jig tool. And for using one edge block to secure onto the edge of a table or bench top and the other edge block to hold your work. The 3 holes and two top screws can also be used for other clamping, vise, holding, positioning, mounting or other purposes. And the edge blocks can be replaced by other structures which fit into their slots. And any of these pieces can be modified to serve other purposes or to expand or change its many uses.

Used and in great condition. We don't know what this large, unusual-looking clamp was originally designed for. The clamping end looks very much like the typical hot patch clamp for tubes. The fancy curve in its body and the much greater thickness of the materials it can handle looks like it is used for patching large, bulky tubes that its smaller cousins can't handle. A regular bench vise can be used to clamp anywhere along its ridge for optimum positioning. It has some surface discoloration as it was stored in a barn, but is fully functional. We don't know its make or model or how old it is. Makes a great tool collectible, and is very useful for clamping all kinds of flexible materials such as rubber, plastic, metal sheeting, and wood for the shop, business, hobbies, crafts, model-making, fabric and sewing uses, etc. If the material is relatively thin and flexible, you likely can roll-up or bunch-up a large quantity of material inside the clamp and clamp much deeper into the material than any other clamp. This clamp of course can be still be used to clamp rigid or thick items and materials to a depth of about 5".

Used and in very good condition. Adjustable Precision Thickness Gauge and Thickness Tolerance Gauge. This type of gauge is often referred to as a "Go - No Go Gauge". Great for measuring the thicknesses of sheet metal, plate metal, sheet plastic, sheet wood, glass sheet and other objects which can be fitted underneath its hard steel anvils. On the boiler plate (above, left of "2" on left image), I can only read "Whitney" on top line and "West" on line below it (likely Pratt & Whitney). We bought it in a lot of aircraft tools, so also likely this thickness gauge / thickness tolerance gauge is an aircraft gauge. Maximum measured thickness and maximum tolerance thickness are both 1/2", minimums are both 0". Height of each anvil is individually and independently set. This precision thickness tolerance gauge is 3" wide, 3-1/2" tall, 1/2" thick, made of steel. Most of the Pratt Whitney precision Go - No Go gauges of this type we have seen are very limited to measuring small thickness tolerances (e.g. 0.01"), and some are not even adjustable. And since this is a purely mechanical gauge, it never requires batteries, and you can keep it in your tool box with your thickness and tolerances solidly locked into place until you decide to change them. A great hand tool gauge for precision work, and also a great hand tool collectible gauge.
How this thickness gauge / thickness tolerance gauge works is easily and quick: In right image, note side screws just above the anvils (or plungers or pistons) and on top screws directly over the gap. The side screws, when tightened, lock anvil positions so you don't lose a setting. The top screws are used to make the anvils descend to the levels you want to. To measure thickness, you simply back off the top screws to the top of the tool as in right image. You then push up the anvils (side screws loose), same as left image. You then place the sheet, plate or stock underneath the anvils. You then screw down at least one top screw until its anvil gently rests on the top of the sheet, plate or stock. You then tighten its side screw. You then slide out the sheet, plate or stock, and use a caliper to measure the gap between anvil and anvil block beneath it, and that is your thickness. Gauge can also be transferred to someone else to use it with your setting, or stored if repeatedly needed to produce or verify the same results.
The real beauty of this gauge tool is its precision thickness tolerance gauge feature for sheets, plates and stock you buy or make - why it is called a Go - No Go Gauge. For example, you bought a steel plate, and you need to verify that its thickness and thickness tolerance. What you do is first determine what thickness and thickness tolerance are acceptable. For example, your steel plate must be 10mm �0.1mm (your plate must be between 9.9mm and 10.1mm thick). You lift both anvils all the way to the top as before. You then screw in the back top screw until its anvil lowers precisely to the 9.9mm height, as measured by a caliper, and then tighten its side screw to lock it in. You then repeat this process for the front anvil but setting it for 10.1mm. You then run the gauge along the edge of your steel plate along its length. If the plate won't pass under the front anvil, the plate is too thick. If the plate passes under both anvils, then the plate is too thin. If the steel plate passes under the front anvil but not under the back anvil, your steel plate is within both specified thickness and tolerance.

This rare and unusual, yet very versatile and useful, punch is used to mark a spot on a pipe, tube, shaft, rod, cable and bar stock or other object for later drilling, machining, cutting, grinding, measuring, etc. 3-3/4" tall, it opens up to 1". Spring-loaded, the extension on the side lifts the shaft up, the stock is then inserted into the open V-notch, positioned to where the "X" or "+" marking is intended, and you release the extension to drop the shaft onto the stock, which should then hold the stock firmly in place exactly where you want it. You then hit the top of the 3/4" x 3/4" shaft with a hammer or swage to emboss the "X" or "+" into the stock. You then raise the shaft again and remove the marked stock. Also great for securely staking or crimping on lugs onto cables, up to as thick and heavy as welding cables and power cables. And for sealing or flattening the ends of copper tubing / brass tubing / aluminum tubing / steel tubing, and other metal and plastic objects. This steel X-punch / crimping punch is great for the auto shop, machine shop, welding shop, plumbing shop, electrician shop, and fabrication shop.

Bought at an estate sale. This is a versatile multiple-use pliers complete with a built-in punch / connector crimper, wide cutters, and wire stripper, as well as its powerful normal gripping function. While in like-new conditions, both the upper and lower cutter blades are replaceable. These Dielectric parallel jaw pliers are 8-1/2" long, husky, and industrial grade - built for those really tough jobs. The really nice thing about parallel jaw pliers is that the jaws close evenly on the gripped object, as opposed to the "V" jaw openings of standard pliers, which interferes with gripping ability because gripped objects tend to slip out of the "V" grip (especially nuts). Also, because the jaws are square and parallel to each other, you can use these parallel pliers jaws as a line spacing tool and as a small square, and even (forbid) as a light-work hammer. These high-quality Vise-Grips have four factory modifications, three welded-on: (1) Upper round jaw, (2) Lower round jaw, (3) Special underneath front grip extension, and (4) Drilled-through 1/4" diameter hole. The two round jaws are 1/8"-thick, 1" long hard brass, with an oval opening (when Vise-Grips are closed) of about 3/4"-wide and 1/2"-high. Ideally designed to clamp onto round pipe, tubing, conduit, hose, cable, wire bundles, rod and other round stock and other objects which are 1/2"-3/4" in outer diameter, but will also securely clamp onto flat surfaces, oval objects, odd-shaped objects and irregular objects and other objects as well. Most likely it was designed for aerospace or aircraft applications. It is a very high quality, machined steel device, lubricated, with a scale engraved into it. The pressure gauge measures pressure against the end on the left, and its scale is: 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 lbs. You can use it for weighing, to measure material hardness via dimpling pressures, to measure frictional forces, or placed against a wrench handle to measure torque. Tools of this very high quality precision machined steel are almost always very expensive.

Works great. We can't find a stamp on who made it. It is large, heavy-duty, industrial grade, robust, 16" long with a 2" wide chuck (Jacobs 34B, "5/8"), 6 lbs. Crank wheel is 6" diameter and solid. Crank handle is 4.5" from center. Great for old-fashioned crafts and wood projects, field use, camping use, survival situations, and other situations where you don't have ready electric power.

CHUCK SEPARATES One of the nicest things about this drill is that the chuck can be removed in two ways for it to be used in separate operations or for more compact storage. The drill shaft (about 1/2" dia) screws into the chuck at the top of its back through a fitting at its end (about 5/8" dia threads). In addition, the drill shaft is secured to the small gear with a through steel pin (about 1/8" dia.) located just below the gear, and if you were to punch out this pin, you could slide the shaft free of both the small gear and the drill housing in between, leaving you with the complete chuck/shaft assembly, which you could then directly insert its shaft into a drill press or any handheld drill that will accept a 1/2" shaft. Then if you wanted to reassemble them, you could do so by re-installing the shaft and pin.

Appears to be new. This is a very rare, yet very useful and versatile pulling tool. We do not know its formal name or original functions. It appears to be a very high quality tool. How it works is that there is an oval 1/4" wide x 1/2" long slot in the silvery front plate of the tool, which lines up with a 3/8" wide and 1/2" long oval slot in the top front "barrel" of the tool. There is a hollow piston inside of the hollow barrel, which has a corresponding slot in its front plate. When this piston is fully forward, the piston front slot rests against the back of the front plate slot, which exposes the piston's hollow opening behind its front slot through the barrel's top slot. By repeatedly compressing the big blue handles, this piston is ratcheted backwards against spring pressure from a compression spring behind the piston, thereby increasingly separating the two front slots. Maximum rearward piston travel is 1". The small silver handle in front releases the piston to make it spring all the way forward again to repeat the process. The head of a bolt or nail, for examples, is inserted from above behind the two front slots with the piston all the way forward. The extractor's front plate is pressed against the object where the pin is inserted, the blue handles are steadily and repeatedly pulled, usually smoothly and quickly drawning out the pin from its hole. This tool can be similarly used to remove nails with heads greater than about 1/4" wide and shafts equal to or less than about 1/4", and small gears, pullies and wheels from their shafts or axles. This same mechanism can be used to compress a spring on a shaft. The slotted front plate is attached by screws, and can be removed and replaced by some other front plate you make for other types of jobs you may need it for.

This is a new very heavy duty grip chain that looks like motorcycle drive chain but much heavier and shorter. It has a hook at one end that connects to a threaded and adjustable long nut to tighten or loosen the chain's grip. We have no idea what it is designed to do. Do you? It looks like to us that it is designed to grip a 1-1/2" dia. pipe or bit for perhaps some kind of drilling or coreing operation, or to act as a stop for a pipe or bit from slipping or not going any deeper than intended.

Used and in great condition. While it looks unused, the paint is chipped in a couple of places. We don't know exactly what this tool does or its make or model. It has an adjustable and pointed and sharp cutting head. It also has a crank at the end for turning the cutting head (see top of second image for image of black ball at the end of the crank). And it has a squeeze handle that pulls back the cutting head, which looks like a canopener type cutting head. The cutting head looks like it is plunged into a container top, the crank is then turned to cut out a circle which diameter is determined by the cutting head setting, and once the circle is cut out, the handle is squeezed to pull off or extract the cutoff circle away from the container. It looks like the kind of tool used for some commercial or industrial use. The flange near the front has a 5/16" hole probably used to bolt the tool down on back or side ende of a work bench. New, hard copy or eBook. V-Blocks are invaluable tools, mostly used by mechanics and machinists, but with many other great uses. Most V-Blocks are made to securely hold round pipes, tubes, rods, hoses, cables, and other round stock or parts to be drilled, cut, ground, milled, punched, reamed, polished, welded, brazed, soldered, sculptured, painted, decorated, etc. so that these operations can be done very steadily and precisely. Doing these same operations by dangling the stock or other object off of the end of a vise or clamp generally leads to much cruder results as the worked-on object will likely vibrate or bend some and more likely even slip or be marred while being worked on. V-Blocks are not limited to holding and securing round objects. Square and rectangular stock and other objects can also be used, depending on the intended operation. And odd-shaped objects can be used as well - just as long as they fit and are secured onto the V-Block. We have even used V-Blocks to mount small motors. While securing stock and other objects for machining operations is the most common uses of V-Blocks, V-Blocks have many other practical uses, for examples, for displays of collectibles or items for sale, holding ice cores and rock cores, working on fossils, rocks and minerals, holding sports equipment (e.g. baseball bats, fishing rods), holding motors and generators, for storage containers, for book and magazine holders, for holding, positioning and guiding sliding or rotating rods, pipes, tubes, hoses, cables, shafts and tools, and as troughs. And a V-Block inverted-mounted on top of another V-Block to form a square tube can serve as a sturdy container, guide or bushing.
Commercial V-Blocks are milled out of hard steel using ultra costly milling machines, are considered to be precision tools, don't come in many variations, and are very costly (not good in these harder economic times). Custom making your own V-Blocks is a great idea because you can make V-Blocks which best suit YOUR particular V-Block needs. This manual describes fast, easy and cheap methods to fabricate V-Blocks (also referred to as "Vee Blocks"), as well as W-Blocks (also referred to as "Wee Blocks") and X-Blocks, which do NOT require a milling machine. The only material cutting tool required is one which will cut the materials you choose for your V-Blocks, usually a bandsaw or hacksaw. Both W-Blocks and X-Blocks are essentially multiple V-Bocks, all being collectively referred to as V-Blocks, so our same methods easily apply to W-Blocks and X-Blocks as well (a W-Block is a V-Block with two "V" notches on at least one side, a X-Block is a 4-sided V-block with a "X" cross-section). And don't sweat trying to buy V-Block clamps - our manual describes 3 other common tool types which are usually much cheaper and commonly available than commercial V-Block clamps for both your custom made and store-bought V-Blocks. We have 20 of these Slender Jaw Vise-Grip locking pliers / vise gripping pliers with the unique slender needlenose jaws. We don't know whether they were made this way by the factory or machined by their former owner (most likely as there are minor variations between pliers, but there are also minor variations between factory-manufactured Vise-Grips; the pliers you receive may not be the exact same pliers as shown in the image). Typical of all Vise-Grip pliers, these are very high quality Vise-Grips. (Sorry, we just sold this Richco Crease Gun; we are trying to get more of them in.) Used and in very good condition. Rare Crease Gun (no - not Grease Gun - this is a Crease Gun). Rugged, heavy-duty. Adjustable with many versatile uses, but generally used to remove or make creases or dents in sheet metal and flexible plastic, more specifically usually used to remove dents and creases from dented car bodies. This crease handtool has a similar action to a pop rivet gun - when you pull on the handle, the bottom bit chuck (bit holder part) pulls up, and with a great mechanical advantage, to pull up whatever the bit is gripping onto. This crease tool is adjustable for the initial height of the bit chuck from the bottom for different lengths of bits and depths of creases. To use the Richco crease gun to remove a dent or crease, you screw or insert the end of the bit through a hole in the middle of the crease. You then insert the other end of the bit into the chuck and tighten it down. You then pull the handle to pull up the bit and with it the dent or crease up against the plexiglass, thereby flattening the crease or dent to remove it.

This Richco crease gun has many other pull-type uses, depending upon the bit used. For example, it can be used to pull a screw, rivet, pin, standoff or wire through a tight hole. It can be used to bend a stiff piece of wire or thin stock. Great for the autobody shops, crafters, modelers, and fabrication shops.
This Richco crease gun functionally works great. Used and in very good condition. Rare steel K-D Tire Width Caliper (Tire Width Gauge), and Rim Width Caliper (Rim Width Gauge) allows you to accurately measure both tire and bar rim widths. Rim and tire widths are given in both inches and tire sizes. Expands up to vehicle Tire Size 14 (14 inches). Image shows it is collapsed down to its smallest size (Tire Size 8). Tire widths are measured using the bottom tynes (outside measurement), and inside rim widths are measured without the tire using the top tynes. It is difficult to accurately measure rim and tire widths any other way, including with other types of calipers and gauges. With this simple, sturdy, accurate special caliper, you simply expand it out, rest the flat surface on the surface of the tire tread, then collapse it down until the tire tynes press against the tire walls, then view the measurment. For vehicle rims, you simply collapse the tire caliper down, insert the rim tynes inside the rim, then expand it out until the rim tyne points come into contact with the inside of the rim, then view the measurement. Great for switching out tires and/or rims, and for aligning and balancing tires. This inside/outside caliper tool has many other uses as well, including general shop use, carpentry caliper and construction caliper uses, manufacturing plant, farm and ranch.

Used chrome steel ball joint jig, and it works great. Very high quality and very sturdy. Ball joint jig has some unknown medical or laboratory application, but is very versatile and can be used for many other jobs. The wingnut tightens the ball into place. The ball joint will rotate through 360 degrees azimuth with an angle up to 45 degrees from the vertical through the entire 360 degrees. The tube connected to the top of the ball is 5" long with a 5/8" inner diameter hole about 4" deep. We do not know what the mechanism along this tube is used for, but it works great to position a tube or pipe slipped over this tube. The "L"-shaped "handle" on the side is a hexagonal bar 1/2" thick that is 4-1/2" long and sticks out 1-1/2".
