New Old Stock (NOS). Rare 6" Slender Jaw Needle Nose Irwin Vise-Grip Pliers / Needlenose Locking Pliers, marked 6LN, Made in USA, and with the standard side cutter. Please note that top left image is the mirror image of the other side of the pliers shown in bottom image to point pliers in the same direction as bottom image for aesthetic and comparison purposes. We have 20 of these Slender Jaw Vise-Grip locking pliers / gripping pliers with the unique slender needlenose jaws. We don't know whether they were made this way by the factory or machined by their former owner (most likely as there are minor variations between pliers, but there are also minor variations between factory-manufactured Vise-Grips; the pliers you receive may not be the exact same pliers as shown in the image). Typical of all Vise-Grip pliers, these are very high quality Vise-Grips. Compared to most foreign made similar gripping pliers, Vise-Grips have excellent jaw fitting and jaw closure reliability, and are much more resistant to bending, twisting, distorting, breaking and wearing out. These special thin-nose Vise-Grip locking pliers are absolutely great!
     Their slender needlenose structure has major advantages over similar standard-nose Vise-Grips and over every type of non-locking needlenose pliers:
          (1) Allows access to hard-to-reach places - tighter spaces and deeper places. Even if your Vise-Grip standard long-nose pliers can reach the work, these special slend nose Vise-Grip pliers provide you more space for positioning, placing, maneuvering, turning and twisting the part - your work gets done faster, easier and more reliably.
          (2) Because these Vise-Grip pliers nose is long and slender, it holds and grips parts (e.g. nuts, screws, washers, nails, pins, rods, hardware, etc.) better than the standard long nose Vise-Grip pliers and much better than non-locking needlenose pliers. Due to the much increased spring action of the slender needle nose, these pliers permit both greater force on the held object AND greater surface area of the jaws contact with the object, thereby distributing this greater force over a greater contact area - resulting in both tighter holds and less pounds per square inch exerted on the object, thereby increasing your hold while also reducing both marring and crushing probabilities. While many non-locking needle nose pliers also come with a long, slender jaws similar to these, but since they don't lock, they are much harder and less reliable to use than these special Vise-Grip needlenose pliers, especially if any kind of force is being applied to the gripped part. Like new but used and in very good condition. Unusual Vise-Grip Tubular Pliers, Customized Vise-Grip Pliers. Heavy-duty, 7-1/2" long, labeled 7R. These high-quality Vise-Grips have four factory modifications, three welded-on: (1) Upper round jaw, (2) Lower round jaw, (3) Special underneath front grip extension, and (4) Drilled-through 1/4" diameter hole. The two round jaws are 1/8"-thick, 1" long hard brass, with an oval opening (when Vise-Grips are closed) of about 3/4"-wide and 1/2"-high. Ideally designed to clamp onto round pipe, tubing, conduit, hose, cable, wire bundles, rod and other round stock and other objects which are 1/2"-3/4" in outer diameter, but will also securely clamp onto flat surfaces, oval objects, odd-shaped objects and irregular objects and other objects as well. One can add onto and/or modify the jaws for many other possible uses as well. The added front grip extension is also an excellent modification because it much increases your ability to hold onto the Vise-Grip pliers to pull, lift, carry or drag heavy or difficult objects, for turning the pliers under heavy loads, or when your hands have oil or water on them to minimize slipping (all Vise-Grip pliers should have this very useful feature). The Maestro Clamp-All System serves as an expansion tool / spreader tool / separator tool primarily used to expand spring-like C-type clamps to secure the clamps onto various objects you need to secure or work on. The Maestro Clamp-All System is about ideal for clamping many different kinds of objects together, including mouldings, picture frames, laminations, furniture repair, and many other assembly and repair jobs being glued, nailed, screwed or soldered. Can also be used to stretch and open elastic bands of various sizes, and to straighten 1/4" or smaller pipe and rods. How-to Manual is not lengthy but describes various commonly available objects in which you can derive both clamping rings of various diameters (e.g. the 4 rings we provide were made by us, see image) and strong, long-lasting elastic bands of various sizes and strengths you can cut to the widths you want (Note: The Maestro-made rings of various sizes can also be bought commercially). Used and in excellent condition. Rare Vintage XACTO Lock Griplier Pliers, 5-1/2" long, Made in America. Steel, looks like chrome-plated. In the decades we have collected rare, antique, vintage and precision tools, this is the only XACTO Lock Griplier Pliers we have ever run into. These Griplier locking pliers are stamped with: "The 'Third Hand' for Small Assemblies". The "gun site" like structure at the top is the lever that you push forward with your thumb to lock these XACTO pliers, causing it to hold tightly onto the object of interest. You push it back to unlock. These extremely rare Griplier pliers make an absolutely wonderful collectible for collectors of tools in general, pliers in general, locking pliers, clamping tools or locking tools, XACTO tools, electronic tools, craft tools, modeling tools, etc. - your collection is not complete without THIS very rare XACTO Lock Griplier Pliers. These Griplier Lock Pliers are also extremely useful in gripping and manipulating small objects from nuts to wires to electronic parts, modeler parts and craft parts. Handle can be placed in a soft-jaw vise to hold and position this tool while you work on the clamped object. It is a mystery to us why this very useful tool never became a standard tool.

RARE HANDHELD PINCH CLAMP / FLY-TYING VISE
CRAFTS, MODELING, ELECTRONICS, JEWELRY, CLOCKS

Used and in excellent condition. Rare Handheld Pinch Clamp / Gripper Clamp. This hand held pinch vise or pinch clamp tool was made from a rare antique tool (no parts of the antique tool are missing or modified). Pinch clamp opens up to about 5/16" (if bigger gap is needed, use a longer thumb screw). Its two washers have rubber pads on them so as not to mar your held object. You can easily remove these two washers and substitute in bigger washers, smaller washers, oval washers, rectangular washers, and other odd-shape and odd-type washers or extensions you can make or buy to customize this tool for your various needs. You can also stack on more than two washers or extensions to hold multi-layer, laminated and mulitple objects. You can also use the pinch clamp to hold a cutter wheel(s) or blade(s), sanding wheel(s) or grinding wheel(s) to cut, scrape, grind, smooth or shape your work. And it is great as a tool extension for small tools.

This pinch clamp can be used as a fish fly-tying vise tool (fly-tying clamp / fly-tying holder / fly-tying gripper) to grip your hooks and other small parts. And it can also be used to hold or grip just about any small object (including small tools to work on the tools or as tool extensions). One image shows it gripping a few pages of paper, the other image shows it gripping a 36" wood ruler between its two washers, securely clamped down using the thumb screw so that you can securely without touching the object with your fingers. And it is great for clamping down on small glue jobs and solder jobs. Primarily used to remove one object from inside another object (e.g. a wire, rod, tube or pipe inserted inside of a larger one). You simply place the two objects into the jaws of the pliers, then squeeze the handles. The pliers first grips tightly and uniformly around each object as its jaws close. Then, as you squeeze more on the handles, the jaws steadily pull apart, smoothly and steadily removing the gripped smaller object from the gripped larger object. This is the kind of tool that most users don't use frequently, however, when you need it, virtually nothing else will work or at least work nearly as well (if you use pliers, you likely will crush the objects, if you use your hands, you won't nearly have the leverage and smoothness that these pliers have). We recently bought this adjustable-head claw head hammer at an estate sale (a year earlier, we bought another one exactly like this adjustable hammer also at an estate sale where the wife of the deceased stated that hammer's owner was a tool inventor, which we sold Nov. 6 on eBay for $995), so this adjustable-head claw hammer may even be an invention prototype, manufacturer's approval sample, or a (very) limited issue tool (we do not know how many were made or are still available). With decades of experience of buying unusual tools, we have found only three adjustable head hammers, including this one, all of this same type, all found near Albuquerque, NM, and we own this one and the one we have in our tool collection.
UTILITY: The claw hammer's head is easily and quickly adjusted. You simply push in the long black lever, and then position the head to the desired angle (of 3 angles), then release the lever, leaving the head rigidly and securely at selected angle. This adjustable-head claw hammer has outstanding advantages over standard non-adjustable hammers. In its traditional "T" head position, the hammer has all the uses of normal claw head hammers of this general size, shape and weight. However, with the head pointed up of this adjustable hammer, you can reach 2+ inches higher, and it also great for working on vertical surfaces (e.g. walls and fences), slanted-up surfaces (e.g. roofs), for nailing near the edge of a surface you don't want to accidentally hit or score (e.g. high up on a wall near a ceiling), for difficult ceilings and overhead work, and for nailing nails angled towards you. With the head pointed down, hammering on slanted-down surfaces (e.g. roofs), difficult underside surfaces, and for nails angled away from you. Of equal importance, when you pull nails or separate stuck boards using a claw hammer's claw, the angle of the hammer handle, along with your body's position, are critical to the amount of leverage you can apply (i.e. nail-pulling force / board-separating force). Press will handle books, piles of papers, cardboard or anything else you want to press together (up to 8" thick), for examples, to do glue jobs / cement jobs, to press leaves / press flowers, to squeeze out water from cloth, to do prints, to press in indentations / stampings / embossings, for molds, to press electronic components / mechanical components into assemblies, to keep object in a fixed position so it doesn't move around or shift while you are tooling it or painting it, etc. Uses are virtually endless!

Boards are 12" x 7" x 1/2" plywood and are somewhat aged and worn, but you can easily replace them with other boards, metal plates, plastic plates, molds, frames, etc., as they are attached with screws. And of course you can always sandwich between the boards other boards, tempered glass, plastic plates, metal plates, moldings, etc. of various sizes and shapes. The center of the clamp stands 4" from the front edge of the steel shaft that holds the clamp assembly. This means that for boards or plates upto 8" wide, the clamp can be exactly centered. You can substitute or sandwich in boards, etc. up to about 12" wide (if you don't require exact clamp centering) and up to about 16" long for larger works, and of course you can always use smaller boards, etc. as you wish.

The right part of second image shows the bottom of the press and how it sits on surfaces. The top board or plate is easily removed once you release the pressure on it so that you get good visibility in placing and positioning your work on top of the bottom board or plate. Initial positioning is made by quickly sliding up the clamp assembly with its top board/plate along the steel shaft, similarly to how many long carpenter clamps work, and then positioning the top board / plate and snugly tightening down with the clamp's worm screw mechanism to compress the object.

This press is moderate in weight compared to typical worm-screw only presses (which we also sell, see my webpages), and with its convenient "carrying handle" (i.e. the steel shaft), it is highly portable and easy to transport, place, set up and manueuver on the fly on work benches, work tables, pick-up beds, van shops, and other work surfaces. If you replace the boards with metal plates, you can even use the press on a heated surfaces to do hot presses.

We bought this press at an estate sale; son of deceased told us that his father was a dentist and used these presses decades ago to make dentures. Great as a car shop press, machine shop press, crafts shop press, hobby press, modeling press, general mechanical press, production press for factory, other business and home as a press, clamp or vise. Weighs about 13 lbs. Height is 10.5" when cranked all the way down. Handle is 11.5" long, which can of course be extended for greater pressing power using a pipe extension. Plate area is 7" X 4" (upper round press plate is 4" in dia.). Clearance can be varied from 1" to 5-1/8" for thick objects. Horizontal clearance is 4-1/2" wide, so it easily takes 2x4 amd 4x4 lumber and 4" pipe. Worm screw is 3/4" thick steel. While We have had it cranked down to several 100s of pounds of pressure, best we could tell, it was not even close to its limit (which is not stated on is unknown). The screw-press does have surface rust on it but as far as we can tell, the does not appreciably affect either its operation or maximum applied force. However, since neither the base nor the bottom of the round upper press plate is real smooth, the user might want to slide in 1/4" - 1" thick hardwood, pressed board, metal, plastic or rubber surfaces, according to what suits his/her needs best when smooth contact is required. Can be easily mounted on a work bench, work table, pick up truck bed, RV, van, camper, etc.

This is an industrial-grade Blick steel rotational press / rolling press which manually presses items together using two steel rollers, similar to some printing presses. Rollers are 10-1/2" wide. Spacing between rollers is adjustable up to several inches (each side is adjusted independently to achieve just the right pressure and to accommodate uneven work). These presses have endless and critical uses for the general shop, crafts, hobbies, model-making, printing, photography, etchings, etc. For example, one can carve out a logo, figures, message, etc. on a square of linoleum, ink it up and run it through the press to tranfer the image onto paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, wood, etc. For example, one can use it to cement to items together under the pressure of the rollers. Except for some surface discoloration in the bottom roller and on the 19-1/2" x 10-1/2" x 1/8" heavy steel plate, the press is in mint condition. There is no pitting on either the rollers or the plate. The steel plate can be used as a press plate for the pressing process, or a bottom plate to hold or collect items related to the pressing process, put it on blocks and use it as a feeding tray, or for whatever other press or non-press use you can make of it. The original handle got lost, so we made a steel handle that in my opinion works better and faster than the original handle. This Blick press is a cold press, and not a thermal press. It does not come with a manual, but it is simple and straightforward to use.

Used and works great. This rare and unique stamping tool was originally made for stamping livestock in the mouth as a form of branding them. However, it has many other practical uses where one needs to uniquely identify something in a way that is both permanent (cannot be erased or covered up and won't wear out) and very difficult to counterfeit. You dial in the 4-digit serial number by rotating the wheels at the top of the tool head. Each digit consists of a number of 1/4"-long pointed steel spikes arrayed in the form of a digit (0 - 9) which penetrates or at least indents the material being marked. See upper right of image to see what the stamping looks like. Works especially well with soft-to-medium materials such as leather, plastic, some metals and wood, and flesh between 1/32" to 1/4" thick. Also makes a great collectible. Has some surface discoloration and rust.

Used and in very good condition. Rare Forester Hose Shut Off Clamp, Western Fire Equipment Co., Cat. No. 14X670, fire hose shut-off clamp (hose clamp). Opening is 4" long. We added plastic to the handles for greater grip and leverage, and for thermal and electrical insulation. This Forester Hose Shut Off Clamp allows for a great leverage to be applied. Yet, it is very compact when folded, and light weight (made of an aluminum alloy, except clamping ring is brass and pins are steel). CARBON COMPOSITE CONE FORM /

Like new. Heavy, very hard, and apparently a 100% carbon composite cone form, apparently precision-machined and not cast. We can barely scratch it with a sharp X-Acto knife. Actual weight is 1.5 lbs and feels very solid. Base is 6.5" diameter, and it is about 3" tall. Undersided (not shown) is hollow in the cone area, about 2" deep to tip of cone, making the cone surface itself probably about 1" thick. Base "ring" is solid 1.25" wide all around and 1" tall. Material is an electrical insulator material and not magnetic. This is definitely some kind of industrial, scientific or laboratory type cone form. Can be used as a form for shaping, as some kind of mount or mold form, for scientific experiments and science fairs, to launch experimental rockets from, for various crafts, general shop uses, display uses, as part of a mold for casting, and as a cover of some type - many possible different uses. We collect weird scientific and electronic devices, and this is the first one of these we 've ever run into. Do you know what it is? This is apparently one of those kinds of things that when you need one, they are almost impossible to find and nothing else will do.

Used and works great. This rare Simonds slotted tool seems like it may have a practical use for rolling ribbon or similar material up. Someone told us it was a common tool used in conjunction with weaving looms back in the 1920s. Three other persons told us that it is a handle for a Simonds crosscut saw - a two-man crosscut saw used for felling large trees in the lumber industry - a Simond saw handle is most probably its actual original use. However, it can also be used for holding a scraping, cutting or chopping head (e.g. axe head). Or for holding or positioning a wedge. Or for aligning big nails or stakes. Or for opening or closing containers that have a rectangular head that fits into the slot. Also makes a great tool collectible. We bought it at an estate sale where the family told us it was `about 100 years old.' We are collecting rare, weird and old tools for decades now. We have never run into another tool like this one. Slot is 3-1/2" long and 3/16" wide with an adjustable washer. It has seen a lot of use, and its surface finish is rough. A nice collectible or integrated into a crafts project.

Used in very good working condition. Three different sizes - 5/8", 1", 1-1/8" diameters. These look like hair curling irons and are probably even usable as hair curling irons. However, they are high-quality, sturdily-built industrial equipment used to shape, mold, form or curl plastics, soft metals in sheet, cardstock, ribbons, etc. either cold or hot (depending on material shaped and end application). They are not connected to electricity. You heat them up in a fire or preferably, using a curling iron heater. Can also be used to apply labels, logos and brands. RAILROAD MEMORABILIA, BLACK METAL WALL HANGINGS

Rare and in excellent condition. These are great railroad collectibles, vintage metal railroad wall hangings, and useful and versatile support structures. Saw railroad memorabilia like these on a train decades ago as a child (Dad was Santa Fe Conductor and we used to regulary ride the Santa Fe Super Chief, Chief and El Capitan out of Barstow). However, we can't recall what exactly they were made for. They appear to be wall hangings. They also have a re-enforced 5/8" center hole, so possibly they could have been used as strong, sturdy stands, scaffolding or supports to suspend a rod, pipe or tube (or paper roll / fabric roll / carpet roll / plastic sheeting roll between them, e.g. butcher paper holder, packaging paper), which in turn could have suspended a pot or some other load. Such a rod could also suspend various tools, lamps and/or magnifiers (e.g. a paper cutter blade) for kitchen or shop applications. The facing small holes could have been used for rods, threaded at the ends for nuts, to complete the assembly to increase strength and stability, if needed. Should you want to use them for some type of holder, you can custom specify the distance the "stands" are apart to fit your applications (within the mechanical limits of the Item). These railroad collectibles are made of iron or steel, very strong and sturdy, painted black. 13" x 7-3/8" x 3/16" thick.

Used and in great condition. We don't know what these "V" clamps were originally designed to do. Each clamp system consists of a trough-like structure that is 11-1/2" long and 1-5/8" wide at the top which tapers down on all sides to about 9" long and 1/2" wide at the bottom, and about 1-1/8" deep. Each has two sliding clamps with it. At the bottom is a clamp that slides along a slot at the very bottom, and that tightens using two knobs, and that looks like it clamps to a flat rail or bar of some type. The top clamp slides along and above the top lip of the trough, and is used to clamp down whatever you are working on or want to secure in the trough. These things look like they are used to hold down or secure something in the trough perhaps for soaking, washing, cleaning, grinding, polishing, machining, painting, carving, soldering, etc. They look like they were originally designed for some type of photographic, jewelry-making or laboratory purpose, but can be further adapted for many general shop, craft, hobby, model-making, etc. uses. We do not know the make or model or age. This is a kind of tool which has many uses, is very versatile, but when you need it virtually nothing will substitute for it.
